The operational directors of GeoRec Environmental Ltd are Chartered Civil Engineers who together have extensive design, investigation and project management experience on major civil engineering, earthmoving, remediation and foundation projects in both the UK and overseas.

We are able to combine all the necessary skills required to provide a highly competent project management function for your earthmoving and remediation projects.

Geoffrey Card has more than 25 years specialist experience in design and construction of development on contaminated ground and landfill sites, and in the design and supervision of construction of diaphragm walls as structural units and hydraulic cut-offs for containment of pollutants and soil gases. Prior to forming his first company, Card Geotechnics Ltd, in 1994, Geoffrey held senior positions within major UK civil engineering consultancies and is the author of a number of publications on geotechnical and environmental matters, including the recent CIRIA publication R149 "Protecting development from methane", a document he is currently updating for CIRIA. Geoff is also relied upon as an expert witness in numerous matters of geotechnical import.

 

David Horne has approaching 30 years experience in the management of civil engineering, building, earthmoving, surface mining and landfill reclamation contracts in the UK , the Middle East , and other parts of the world. A strong and determined team leader with particular skills in the organisation and management of multi-discipline projects, he held senior management positions for 15 years with a major UK civil engineering contractor; for 9 years in Qatar with a civil and building contractor and for 5 years in the Lebanon as the construction manager’s representative on a large landfill reclamation project. David also has specialist expertise in explosives engineering required in hard rock for trench excavations, opencast mines, and quarries.
